Friends, Evereve has so much good stuff in lately, I can’t wait till Friday to share it with you. I got an order in last week, and then I went to the mall on Saturday and I took a bunch of pictures in the fitting room. I also have a few random finds from Talbots and Gap Factory.
New Fall Styles from Evereve

LNA Morjana Stripe Pullover

I love almost everything about this sweater. The neutral color palette with the wide stripe pattern, the v-neck, and the 22″ length are perfection Also, this fabric is scrumptious. It’s that thick, stretchy knit that holds its shape well and feels super soft to the touch.
I just wish it wasn’t cut quite so wide through the body because it sticks out awkwardly from the side, and it seems to be slightly higher in the front than the back.
I mean, maybe I’m overthinking it. It’s so cute straight-on, and from the back. I don’t even mind the drop shoulder too much. And did I mention, the knit fabric is delicious?
VERDICT: I’m conflicted. I’ll probably return it because my rule with tops is, If in doubt, do without. There are so many to choose from, it isn’t worth settling for one that isn’t exactly what I want it to be.
Zoey Rib Inset Hoodie

This is such a nice casual basic for fall. It’s super soft, and it has a close fit that makes it easy to layer on top of, if you like that look. I can see layering this under a bomber jacket or just wearing it alone for a simple, casual weekend look. The sleeve length is generous, and it has thumbholes.
I wish I had this sweatshirt last year; it would have been perfect for all of those marching band and indoor percussion events.
VERDICT: Keeping, for sure. It also comes in gray.
Michael Stars Nara Mock Neck Top in Dark Matcha

Cowl neck tops are coming in strong this fall, but they aren’t the long, saggy cowl necks of yore. What I’m seeing is more like this — a subtle draping effect that adds an interesting detail, and it’s often paired with a strong shoulder, which is also a big trend this season.
Speaking of big trends this season, green is suddenly everywhere right now, in all different shades, and I think this “deep matcha” is so pretty and different. I also love the ribbed texture, and it has such a nice length with a bit of shape through the waist, but it isn’t clingy at all. You can front tuck, if you want, but it also looks nice left out.
VERDICT: Keeping! I actually wore this yesterday with a different pair of jeans, and I can see myself reaching for it a lot this season. See below how it layers under a bomber jacket.
Aviator Bomber

This is such a great little jacket; even though they call it faux leather, it’s more of a thick scuba fabric. It’s very soft and stretchy, and it’s a little heavier than some, so it can transition well to colder weather. I went with the brown, for something different, since I have a lot of black jackets.
I like it over the green Michael Stars mock neck, and here’s how it looks over a cream sweater with a pair of croc print mules.
It has really nice details, and the sleeves are a nice length. (I hate it when jacket sleeves don’t come down over my wrists.)
Size-wise, it’s pretty true. The small that I’m wearing here is just a teensy bit snug through the shoulders, but I tried on the medium in-store, and it was definitely too big. I’m kind of in between sizes at the moment, so that seems about right.
VERDICT: I think I’m keeping this… I’ve still got the tags on it, for now. I’m struggling a bit with styling the brown, since I wear so much black, but I think I have enough things to go with it.
Matisse McCarthy Square Toe Mule in Espresso

These aren’t from Evereve, but they are the shoes I’m wearing above, so I want to give you more details. I absolutely love these mules. They have a such a nice, sleek shape to them with a slightly squared-off toe, and the croc-embossed leather in a rich neutral color they call espresso kind of leans black or brown, depending on what you wear them with, making them highly versatile. Plus, a mule is a perfect way to transition your footwear during this tricky in-between season.
VERDICT: Keeping, these are so good! They run a bit small. I’m between the 8 and 8.5 and trying to decide which ones to keep.
Taylor Stripe Trim Sweatshirt

I absolutely LOVE this lightweight sweatshirt for transition season. It’s so soft inside, and it has raglan sleeves! (My favorite, for anyone new around here. I like how they soften my square shoulders.) The sleeves are nice and long, and they have a wide cuff, which is a nice detail.
It’s also a great length for leaving untucked, and then it has that fun striped detail on the sides. This top is going to be on serious repeat this season.
VERDICT: I think it’s pretty obvious that I kept this one!

I always like to have a blouse or two in my fall/winter wardrobe. I don’t wear them a lot, but sometimes a blouse is exactly what I want to dress up my denim for a dinner out or with pants for church on Sunday.
This one is really pretty, and it has such a nice drape. The 24″ length is a bit tricky for me; it’s almost too long to be left out, but when you tuck a top that buttons down the front, it tends to bulge out awkwardly at the bottom. Why does it never seem to do this to the models online??? Is it just me?
I solved the issue by pairing this top with the longest jeans I have in my closet — these 32″ flares. I feel like that gets the proportions about right.
VERDICT: I think I’m keeping this. I moved it to my closet, but I left the tags on for now.
PRO TIP: Whenever I’m not sure about an item, but I think I want to keep it, I move it to my closet and mark my calendar with when the return window expires, so I can reassess at that time, and I don’t get stuck keeping items I don’t really want.

I knew as soon as I laid eyes on this sweater that I would love it. It’s such a pretty fall hue, and I like the v-neckline, the shorter length with the spit hem, and the subtle textured knit. It’s the perfect easy top to throw on with jeans and sandals or flats during this transition season when it’s often still warm outside, but the leaves are changing and it seems more like fall than summer.
VERDICT: This medium is a little bit, and they didn’t have the small in-store, so I ordered it.
Bonnie Strong Shoulder Vest

This is another easy short-sleeve sweater to throw and and go, and I was sure it was going to be a slam dunk, but it didn’t quite work for me. I love the cross-over neckline, the length, the cut of the sleeves, and the textured knit. But when I put on my usual size small, it just didn’t lay quite right. It kind of sat awkwardly on my hips and buckled at the bottom, and it’s the kind of knit that seems like it will “grow” as you wear it, so I didn’t feel like it was going to make a good investment.
I tried the XS, and I like the length better, but it was almost too tight across the hem of the sweater. I don’t know, it just isn’t quite as easy and effortless as I was hoping it would be.

I love a sweater hoodie because it’s just a little more elevated than a sweatshirt material, with a laidback sporty vibe that works well for my casual lifestyle. This one is a soft, lightweight, fine gauge cotton knit that’s so comfortable; and the contrasting drawstring and cuffs are the perfect subtle detail to take it to the next level.
They didn’t have the Olive/Black in the small in-store, so I tried on the small in the Oat/Grey to be sure I liked the fit, and I did. It’s still roomy and relaxed, but not quite so over-sized.
VERDICT: I ordered the Olive/Black in the size small. It will look great with my washed black AG Mari jeans, and I can also wear it with blue jeans.
Ari V-Neck Sweatshirt

I think I would like this better with the matching joggers, but at the time, I didn’t know they existed. It’s kind of a shiny, silky fabric, which seemed a bit odd with the jeans, but I think it would make total sense with the joggers. It has a nice fit; I don’t hate it, but I didn’t love it enough to really consider purchasing it.
Pistola Denim Lennon Crop Boot in Mesa

Let’s pause here and discuss these jeans. I was looking for full-length jeans that I can wear with flats, which continues to be an ongoing project, but they didn’t have the ones I liked in my size, so I grabbed these cropped bootcut jeans to try.
I was drawn to the wash, which is a versatile mid-indigo with a good amount of fading and sandblasting for a laidback vibe. I also just wanted something besides the jeans I wore into the store to try on with all of the tops I was bringing into the fitting room.
Surprisingly, at least to me, I ended up really liking them. For one thing, they’re extremely soft and comfortable. They felt as nice as my MOTHER jeans that I love so much. In fact, I would have guessed they were MOTHER if I hadn’t seen the label. But I also like the fit quite a lot.
VERDICT: I ended up purchasing these.
PAIGE Coated Anessa in French Latte

In an attempt to wear something besides blue or black jeans, I tried these light tan PAIGE Anessa wide leg crop jeans in the coated denim. They don’t look dreadful in this picture, but I was shopping with a friend, and we both agreed that we didn’t love them on me. After debating them for quite some time, I just took this one quick picture so it’s all I have.
VERDICT: I did not end up buying these, but I’m going to keep them in mind as I put outfits together here at home. I might end up revisiting them at some point. I could use some variety in the bottoms in my fall wardrobe.
PAIGE Anessa wide leg denim in Rich Chocolate

This was yet another attempt to find non-bluejeans to add to my fall wardrobe. These are more versatile than the coated pair above, in my opinion, because they’re more of an everyday denim. I don’t see myself wearing coated denim as much.
Also, I like the dark brown a lot. I feel like it’s more forgiving than the lighter colors, and it’s incorporating colored denim into my closet in a very subtle way. Bright and bold colors scare me a bit.
They didn’t have my usual size 29 in store, an the 30 is a bit big, although admittedly very comfortable. With where my weight distribution is going these days, I might need to consider sizing up.
VERDICT: I left these in the store, but I’m keeping them in mind.
AG Farrah Boot Crop in 20 Years Trifecta

These are very similar to the Pistola Lennon, but with a slightly lower rise, and they’re a slightly lighter wash. They were a bit snug on me, and that 10″ rise creates a bit of a muffin top that I don’t care for. You can see it in the photo above.
VERDICT: I didn’t buy these. I didn’t find them as comfortable as the Lennon, and I prefer the 11″ rise, so I purchased those instead.

I didn’t really need another green utility jacket, but this one is super cute. I love the curved hem, and it’s extra roomy and fits easily on over any tank or tee.
VERDICT: This one, I bought. It’s a little more casual than the ones I have, and I think I’ll be happy I have it.

I went into Evereve on Saturday looking for simple base layers to wear under the Aviator Bomber, and this one seemed like a good option. The snap detail adds interest and allows it to stand alone, but it also works well under this jacket.
I just don’t know how I feel about the competing snaps on the top an the jacket. Would that bother anyone else?
VERDICT: I was undecided, and I left the tank in the store.
Kylie Ikat Blouse

VERDICT: I decided not to get this top. I like the geo print one at the top of the post better, and I don’t really need both.

This is another top that I did not end up buying, even though I love the color, and I thought I would love the style of it. But it’s kind of stiff, and it bubbles funny at the waist, especially in the back. It also sat weird over my chest.

This top, however, was a winner! As soon as I saw it on the rack, I knew I wanted to try it, but I was afraid this color wouldn’t work for me. Somehow, it works, and I love the shape of it too. It’s a little spendy, but it’s such a pretty piece for date nights and even a casual lunch out with friends, depending on how I style it.
VERDICT: I decided to splurge on this. Even if I don’t wear it a ton, I know I will enjoy it when I do. I also bought these pumps that look amazing with it and these jeans, but I guess I didn’t take any pictures of that combo.
Gia Cowl Neck Top in Black

This is another fun little cowl neck top with a strong shoulder and a shorter length that is easy to throw on and go with your favorite jeans, and it also will make a nice base layer under jackets when it gets colder. The black seems to be sold out, but it also comes in a really nice Chocolate Brown, and there are a few sizes left in the Dark Green.
VERDICT: I left this in the store, not because I didn’t like it, but because I was buying the green ribbed Michael Stars mock neck top with a similar cut, and also this black muscle tee that somehow I did not get a picture of. At the end of the trip, I was throwing on a bunch of different tops with these jeans, and I didn’t get good pictures of everything.

I’m not a big Talbots shopper myself, but I spotted this v-neck sweater when I was doing a roundup for my email newsletter, and thought it was worth a try. it’s actually really cute on, and I love the pearl buttons. Preppy styles like this are a trend this year, so if that’s your vibe, this is a nice option.
VERDICT: I didn’t keep it, it’s not quite my style, but I wanted to share it because I think some of you will like it.

I guess I didn’t take any mirror pictures of this, but I will include it since it’s the other piece I ordered from Talbots. This one, I love. It’s a nice neutral color beige, and the length and styling is right on trend, but still in keeping with Talbots’ modern classic style.
VERDICT: Keeping, wore it, love it!

I have a lot more from Gap Factory to show you; in fact, I shot a few looks with Alison last week for an upcoming post, but I wanted to show you this sweater because it’s so cute, and I predict it will be a top seller. The collar and zip front are right on trend and I love the navy and camel stripes.
VERDICT: Keeping! This will definitely come in handy when our weather cools down.
