Camila Cabello Just Revealed Icy Blonde Hair and New Bangs

Hollywood is taking “new year, new hair” seriously. At barely two months into 2024, we’ve already been treated to a plethora of hair transformations, including J. Lo’s sleek mini bob, Aubrey Plaza’s new fluffy bangs, and Dove Cameron going back to her blonde roots. But the latest may be the most shocking yet: Camila Cabello just revealed a new platinum shade.

On February 1, the singer shared a short video to Instagram with the caption “it’s time >:)” and what seems to be new music in the background. She was wearing a simple white T-shirt, low-rise leather pants with an exposed thong, and glowy makeup while filming herself with a camcorder. Of course, our eyes went right to her new hair, which was the center of the look.

Her hair, which was her signature deep brunette shade just days ago, is now an icy platinum blonde with a touch of dark roots. She’s been wearing long bangs for the past year or so, but it looks like she also got a bang trim and is now working with a shorter, edgier look.

The transformation was the work of celebrity hairstylist Nikki Lee. “Camila wanted a big moment for 2024, and what bigger moment than her going platinum blonde,” says Lee of the transformation, adding that it’s a shade Cabello has never tried.

“Our promise to each other was we could do it, but only if we kept her hair as healthy as possible,” she continues. “We got her to this color with three appointments. When going from almost black hair to platinum blonde hair, it’s important to be patient and understand that it’s a process. We used L’Oreal Paris Féria Toner in Icy Blonde ($10), which is an easy way for her to eliminate any brassiness and keep her hair shiny until she can get back into the salon to see me. We’re loving everything about this change on her, she’s glowing, and it’s channeling 2024 vibes for sure!”
