Greetings, friends! It’s time for my first round of try-ons from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I’ve got a few more orders coming in later this week, but this is what I tried on (and much of it I purchased) in-store today!
I really like a lot of the pieces I found today, but I’m struggling a bit with putting them together… you’ll see what I mean. Also, I didn’t focus enough on completer pieces, and I didn’t even venture into the dresses, so I basically found a lot of good basics, but I don’t have a lot of complete outfits. I plan to remedy that situation, but for now, this is what I found today!
Early favorites are this 3-season sweater in the navy stripe (true to size), this speckled crew neck sweater (TTS or size down if in between), these spurge-worthy wide leg light wash jeans (TTS), these more budget-friendly wide dark wash leg jeans (size down), and this navy smocked tank dress was a fun surprise! It is so flattering. Also, don’t miss my roundup of Beauty Exclusives! I purchased quite a few of those already.

2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Haul
SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

Vince Smocked Tank Dress in Coastal (S) // This dress was maybe the biggest surprise of this year’s #NSale, and I love that it can be worn now and later. The smocked texture is a nice way to elevate the simple silhouette, and it’s so flattering. It has a body-con fit, without being clingy, and it’s lightweight and comfortable for hot summer days. This one is a keeper, for sure!
KUT From The Kloth Matilda Crop Faux Suede Trucker Jacket (M) // I like the boxy, cropped fit on this faux suede jacket. It runs a little small; I sized up to the medium. This is the Almond color, and it also comes in a warm Toffee. This will be a nice layering piece for fall!
AllSaints Stevie Cotton Crop T-Shirt in Grey Marl (M) // This is a nice basic tee for layering or wearing alone, with a shrunken fit and a short 22 1/2″ length. It’s made of 100% organic cotton, and it comes in black, white, and grey marl.
PAIGE Anessa High Waist Raw Hem Wide Leg Jeans (29) // These might be the jeans I’m most excited about so far in this year’s #NSale. I have a similar pair in a cropped length that I like a lot in the warmer months, and this 31″ inseam is perfect for wearing with low heeled boots this fall. The fabric is super soft and stretchy and comfortable, and the front rise is 11 1/2″.
Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie in Taupe (8) // I like these so much I got them in the black leather and the taupe suede. They have a streamlined silhouette and a low heel, and the shaft is soft against the leg. They run true to size and they also come in a fun snake print.

Treasure & Bond Speckled Pima Cotton Blend Sweater (S) // This is just a nice and easy pullover for fall and winter; I like the speckled knit for added interest, and it has a relaxed fit with contrasting collar, hem, and cuffs, and raglan sleeves. I had a hard time choosing the color, but this Brown Bear Nep should be really nice for fall.
Jenny Bird Hidden Heart Hoop Earrings // I also picked up these chunky sterling silver plate hoops (they also come in gold.) They’re lightweight and shiny and just the right size for everyday wear.

Splendid Livy Stripe Sweater (S) // This relaxed crewneck with the chunky stripes has a bit of a preppy vibe going on, very 90’s-inspired, which of course is where the trends are going these days. It’s made of 54% polyester, 20% acrylic, 20% nylon, 6% wool but it feels super soft and luxe.
MOTHER High Waist Fray Hem Flare Leg Jeans (30) // I was super excited to see these jeans in the #NSale again this year. They’re probably my most worn jeans. This #NSale version is just as lightweight and stretchy and soft and comfortable as the full-price version I have, and the 32″ length is perfect for wearing with a low heel. I’m wearing the size 30 here because they didn’t have the 29 in store, and they’re very comfy, but I could probably size down. I would say they’re true to size.
COACH Hutton Box Leather Shoulder Bag // I didn’t think much of this bag online, but it caught my eye right away in the store today. I like the combination of the glossy black leather and the antique brass hardware with the turnlock flap closure. It has a luxe microsuede interior, and it also comes in saddle brown.
Jenny Bird Stevie Drop Earrings // I fell in love with Jenny Bird jewelry at a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a few years ago, and I’m so glad to see them back again this year. The high quality and classic styles add a nice touch of shine to any outfit, these gold drop earrings have a trendy link design that is an easy way to update your everyday looks.

Faherty Golden Hour Pullover Sweater in Desert Sage (M) // This lightweight pullover is so soft an comfortable, and I love the rolled neckline and split hem and relaxed fit. I don’t know why I ended up with a medium in the green, but I prefer the fit of the small (see the stripe one below.)
Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie in Tan Leather (8.5) // These are a nice classic pointed toe leather boot with a 3″ stacked block heel, and as an added bonus, they’re waterproof! They have a good amount of cushion in the footbed, and the shaft is a bit stiff, but it will be fine with socks. They also come in black leather and a chocolate brown suede, and they run a bit small. I sized up half.
Faherty Golden Hour Pullover Sweater in Navy Calico Stripe (S) // I love the stripe version even more than the green. It is so good for wearing now with white shorts, and I can wear it with jeans this fall. This is definitely one of my Top Five Favorites from this year’s #NSale so far!
Pistola Monroe High Waist Crop Cigarette Jeans (29) // I really like these slim straight leg blue jeans in a crop length for a mid-price brand. The fabric is 99% cotton/1% spandex, so they’re a little more rigid than most of my jeans, but that’s right on trend, and I expect they’ll soften up with wear. They do fit a little snug in the 29, so you may want to size up, if in between.
Dolce Vita Havan Loafer Mule in Brown Crinkle Patent (7.5) // The perfect transition shoe, these come in 6 color ways, and I came home with the Brown Crinkle Patent and Silver Distressed Leather. I’m tempted to go back for the Camel Suede because they’re just that good. They have a good amount of cushion in the footbed, and they’re very comfortable to wear right out of box.

PAIGE Laurel Canyon High Waist Flare Jeans (29) // I have a pair of these in a slightly different wash from last year’s #NSale, and they were one of my most worn pairs of jeans last fall and winter. I love how this pair has a distressed hem, and the dark wash is super versatile. I would say these run a bit small; I’m usually a solid 29 in PAIGE denim, but these are a little snug.

Treasure & Bond Relaxed V-Neck Sweater in Rust Hills (S) // This is a really nice basic, with a classic v-neck and a relaxed fit. The longer length is a little unexpected, given where trends are headed, but I don’t mind it. It has a nice drape when front tucked. The fabric is 40% viscose, 30% nylon, 25% recycled polyester, 5% wool; and it’s 26″ long. For under $50, you really can’t beat it, and I also got it in the navy.

KUT from the Kloth Meg Patch Pocket Wide Leg Jeans (6) // I’m already a fan of the KUT from the Kloth Meg, and I was excited to see this dark wash pair with the patch pockets in the #NSale this year. The fabric is lightweight and soft and stretchy, and they have trouser style hems for a more polished look. The 29″ inseam is ankle length on most average women, and I struggled a bit to figure out the shoe situation, but I think they work okay with these loafer mules.
Halogen Rib Sleeveless Sweater in Indigo Blue (S) // This is a nice little transition piece that you can wear alone now and under a jacket or blazer this fall. I like the details in the knit, and it has a generous fit and a versatile 22 1/2″ length. You may want to try a size down, if in between.
Dolce Vita Havan Loafer Mule in Silver Distressed Leather (7.5) // These are the same Dolce Vita mules, but in the silver distressed leather, which is very much on trend right now. They’re a little “flashy” for my personal taste, but I think they’re going to be a fun option to have.
Veronica Beard Casie Slingback Pump in Caramel (8) // These are gorgeous shoes, with a leather upper, lining, and sole. I love the ladylike silhouette, with a snipped toe and gold hardware. They also come in black leather and a navy suede. I’m in my usual 8, but I think they run slightly small. You may want to try two sizes, and return the one that doesn’t work.
I’m making a face in the picture above because I didn’t think I liked the shoes with those jeans, but looking at this picture, I think it works. It’s going to take me some getting used to the pointy toe shoes with wide leg jeans, after so long wearing chunkier styles.
Treasure & Bond Relaxed V-Neck Sweater in Navy Blazer (S) // This is the same sweater as shown above in the Rust Hills. It’s a really nice basic with a classic v-neck and a relaxed fit.
FRAME Le Easy Flare Raw Hem Jeans (29) // I was excited to see these in the #NSale this year because I have a simliar pair, but these have a raw hem, and they’re a little narrower through the leg opening. In fact, I would call them more of a bootcut than a flare, but I still like them for a less dramatic look. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy and comfortable, and they have a generous fit. I would try a size down, if you run in between.
AllSaints Stevie Cotton Crop T-Shirt in Grey Marl (M) // This is the same tee as the one above, but in the grey marl. It’s a nice, light gray, super versatile.
AllSaints Half Moon Leather Crossbody Bag // A trendy leather crossbody with a half moon shape. The adjustable strap allows you to tailor it to you, and I love the brushed silver hardware. It also comes in black.

Vince Smocked Shrunken Crewneck Shirt in Cherry Wine (S) // I really love this crinkle fabric, and the short sleeve sweater tee is such a nice way to level up your denim, but it runs a bit small. I left this in the store and ordered the medium, and it should arrive in a few days.
KUT from the Kloth Rose Button Front Denim Skirt (8) // I love the details on this light wash denim skirt… the button front with zig-zag stitching, the subtle fading, and the just-below-the-knee length. It fits pretty true to size for KUT from the Kloth; I could probably have sized down to the 6, but I didn’t want it to pull across the belly, so I went with the 8.
Vince Short Sleeve Wool & Cashmere Sweater in Charcoal (S) // This is very similar to the wool & alpaca sweater I got last year, but it’s wool and cashmere, and it’s a little thinner than last year’s version, and I think I like it even better. I love this charcoal grey, but it also comes in a light brown and a deep navy blue. The length is 21″.
MOTHER The Rider High Waist Ankle Slim Straight Leg Jeans (29) // I was excited to try this new straight ankle style from one of my favorite denim brands, and it did not disappoint. It’s not quite as fitted a silhouette as my MOTHER Dazzlers, and the fabric is very lightweight and stretchy. The measurements are 28″ inseam, 14″ leg opening, 10 1/2″ front rise; and they run slightly big, which surprised me for a dark wash. You may want to try a size down, if you’re in between.
Theory Cable Knit Wool & Cashmere Sweater (S) // I was so excited to try this luxe sweater, but it didn’t do much for me in person. In looking at these pictures, I’m thinking I probably need to try a size down. I left it in the store, but I think I might give it another shot.
MOTHER The Rider High Waist Ankle Slim Straight Leg Jeans (29) // These straight ankle jeans in an inky dark wash are lightweight and stretchy. The measurements are 28″ inseam, 14″ leg opening, 10 1/2″ front rise; and they run slightly big. You may want to size down, if in between.
DAZE Sundaze High Waist Cuff Crop Straight Leg Jeans (27) // This is my daughter; I thought these jeans were so cute on her, so I convinced her to let me take her picture. I love the light wash and the wide cuff and relaxed straight fit.
Topshop Cable Cardigan (S) // This cable knit cardigan is also super cute on her, although she passed on it and opted for this oversized rib knit sweater instead.
Free People Colt Long Sleeve Waffle Knit Henley (S) // She also got this cute waffle henley in both the pink and the green, as well as this Billabong tee and this square neck bodysuit, but we didn’t get pictures of those.
