Years before products went TikTok viral, they were Instagram famous and heavily featured in the “shelfies” of the coolest girls on the platform. While some of the Insta darlings no longer hold up in 2024, Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask remains a beloved product. Thanks to its soothing and de-puffing abilities, it’s a game changer for dull skin, whether or not you just got off a flight.
Since the introduction of Jet Lag in 2018, Summer Fridays has expanded its lineup to include two more masks and plenty of fan-favorite skincare products (including the viral Lip Butter Balms and silky Shade Drops sunscreen), but it has never built upon the formula that made it an instant success—until now.
On March 16, Summer Fridays debuts the Jet Lag Eye Overnight Eye Serum ($46). Ahead, all the details and our honest review.
The Product
Jet Lag Mask made waves when it first dropped for being one of the first at-home masks that focused on really hydrating and soothing the skin rather than sucking your pores dry. Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum takes the same gentle approach and de-puffing powers, paired with anti-aging ingredients.
Just like the OG mask, the silky serum calls on glycerine for an ultra-hydrating formula. Glycerine is an amazing humectant, which means it protects and cradles your skin, keeping in any moisture. It also provides a cushy feeling and can help protect your skin from harsh ingredients. In the eye serum, there’s just as much glycerine as there is water in the formula, adding to the hydration.
Both formulas also use ceramides as a key component. Ceramides are key for a healthy skin barrier, and they help lock hydration and moisture in for healthy, bouncy skin. Bisabolol is also included in both formulas for its anti-inflammatory properties. The two formulas mainly differ in the inclusion of a gentle retinoid blend in the eye serum to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles and smooth texture.
As the name suggests, Jet Lag Overnight Serum is made to be used once a day as part of your nighttime routine. The formula is non-comedogenic, fragrance-free, and cruelty-free.

My Review
I generally am in the camp that eye creams are nice to have, but not totally necessary. I have dry under-eyes, so they're helpful in that regard, especially when it comes to makeup application, but never really notice a significant difference when it comes to dark circles or the lines that are just beginning to form. However, Jet Lag Overnight Eye Serum just might make me a believer.
The texture is lovely, its lightweight and sinks in right away, but feels super cushy and instantly hydrating. It definitely helps with dryness, and I've never experienced any sensitivity from the retinol. I haven't noticed a difference when it comes to dark circles. However, it does help with de-puffing, and I have seen a lessening of the lines around my eyes. On the night when I do use it, I wake up, and my under-eyes just look all-around smoother and tighter, and my makeup goes on better. All in all, I may be changing my tune as it's starting to become a must in my routine.
