It has been ages since I have reviewed some haircare as it is actually one of my favourite categories of beauty to test out after skincare! I try to test out new things every month, but with September being #SampleSeptember, I focused on using up my little deluxe haircare sizes and then October just got too busy, but for the past month or so, I have been using Chi Essentials Keratin and Bonding Collection and have had a hard time giving it up to move on to another brand!
Didn’t mean to double up on the same photo here, but I accidentally deleted the one I wanted to use so it’s not deja vu, it’s me being a bit lazy and not wanting to totally recreate this flatlay. In terms of scent, both the shampoo and conditioner smell very floral and in a heady way that I’m not too crazy about. Both consistencies are on the creamier side and promise to strengthen and help repair damaged hair using a pH balanced formula with keratin and plant-based bonding agents like hydrolyzed silk and keratin. Both products also contain aloe and hemp seed oil.
While I found the shampoo and conditioner to be nice, but not mind-blowing, it was actually this Protecting Serum that seemed to make a difference in the texture of my hair as even when pairing it with other brands of shampoo and conditioner, my hair feels better after blow-drying! It has that classic silicone-y hair oil texture, but for magical reasons the addition of the hydrolyzed keratin and silk made the ends of my hair extra soft and look less frizzy after styling. It is a bit thick so fine hair won’t need much, but if you have coarse and/or damaged hair like me, I can do two pumps no problem as my hair just sucks it right up!
Final verdict: If you have dry and damaged hair or feel like the texture of your hair could be improved, this collection is for you and obviously highly recommend the Protecting Serum!
You can find the Chi Essentials Keratin and Bonding Collection at www.avon.ca or through your local Avon representative.
